What it is
The LILYGO T-Beam Supreme is an ESP32-S3 board with an SX1262 LoRa radio, a GPS receiver (NEO-M10S or L76K), a 1.3 inch OLED, an 18650 cell holder, and a set of sensors (BME280 environment sensor, QMI8658 IMU, QMC6310 magnetometer, PCF8563 clock). Meshtastic's current T-Beam page covers the S3-Core, the Supreme and the 1W; the older v0.7 to v1.2 boards are no longer documented there.
Who it suits
Best for: a GPS tracker or vehicle node with a swappable 18650, where you want a screen and onboard positioning.
Not for: protected or button-top 18650 cells longer than the holder takes. Not for the 1W variant in the UK (see the warning above). Not for the longest battery life: it is an ESP32 board.
UK 868 MHz notes
LILYGO sells the T-Beam Supreme in more than one frequency version. Buy the 868 MHz version, never 915 MHz. We did not confirm LILYGO's exact SKU code for it. See Buy the right frequency.
We found no stated maximum transmit power for the Supreme on any page we read, and we do not assume one. The arithmetic (ours) is:
e.r.p. (dBm) = conducted TX (dBm) + antenna gain (dBi) - 2.15 - cable loss (dB)
For the UK 500 mW e.r.p. limit in 869.40-869.65 MHz, the conducted power must be at most about 29.1 dBm minus antenna gain in dBi (27.1 dBm at 2 dBi). Any setting above roughly 16 dBm conducted at 0 dBi breaches the 25 mW sub-bands, so the radio must sit in the 869.40-869.65 MHz slot. Meshtastic's EU_868 region does (869.4-869.65 MHz, 10% duty cycle).
Limits are from Ofcom IR 2030 v1.16 (published 7 April 2026).
Firmware
- Meshtastic: supported.
- MeshCore: supported ("LilyGo T-Beam Supreme (SX1262)" in the flasher catalog;
lilygo_tbeam_supreme_SX1262in the repository; the SX1262 and SX1276 T-Beams and the 1W also have variants). - RNode / Reticulum: supported. The Reticulum manual lists the T-Beam Supreme, and RNode_Firmware has an 868 MHz model for it.
Flashing: Flash Meshtastic, Flash MeshCore, RNode and Reticulum setup.
Known quirks
- The 18650 holder takes unprotected flat-top cells only. Protected or button-top cells longer than 65 mm do not fit.
- SoftRF is preinstalled on the S3-Core board, so flash Meshtastic before use.
- Attach the antenna before transmitting.
Power
No reliable current figure is published for this board that we could find. Measure your own node. Cell safety and power-bank notes are in Power.
